What kind of school is Hackley?

Grade 5: as space allows. Until the school understands space in grades 3–5, it will not arrange class visits or parent interviews. If space opens, it will contact families by January 15, 2027, for a late-January visit.

How do the interview and visits work?

Interviews and visits are booked in the Hackley admissions portal by December 4, 2026. Grade 6 applicants come for the group activity; parents interview virtually or in person.

Grade 6 applicants need recommendations from their English and math teachers and from a principal or counselor, and transcripts for the current and two prior years, all by January 8, 2027.

How to prepare

Hackley's test deadline is January 4, 2027, a few days earlier than most document deadlines. A grade 6 applicant taking the ISEE sits the Lower Level. A grade 5 applicant also needs a score, even though space may not open. How often a child may sit the ISEE is covered in our ISEE guide.

Glentavo's practice tests follow the ISEE Lower Level format.
