One practice test, five practice sets, the next practice test.

That is the whole method. We call one round of it a cycle, and your plan is as many cycles as fit before test day.

One cycle, step by step

  1. Practice test

A complete mock ISEE Lower Level: four scored sections and a 30-minute essay, following the published sections and timing of the real test, in one sitting with the two scheduled breaks. In your child's app it is called "GOAT Mode" — GOAT means "greatest of all time".

  2. Report for you

In your account it is called the cycle report. Right after the test: what your child did, where they are now, what changed since the last test, and why the next five practice sets were chosen.

  3. Five practice sets for your child

About 20 questions each, picked from what the test showed: new practice, review of earlier mistakes, and a check, on new questions, that a skill has really stuck. In the first cycle, one set is always about test format and pacing.

Then the next practice test shows whether it worked.

Three questions, then a calendar

Before the plan starts, you answer three questions:

  • When is the test? A date, or "not decided yet". Without a date you get a tentative plan and no countdown.
  • How often should your child take a practice test? Every 1, 2 or 3 weeks.
  • How many days a week can your child practice? Every day, 5, 3 or 2.

We lay out the calendar and count how many cycles fit. You see a calendar and one sentence, not a formula. You can change all three answers later.

Example: test on a Saturday four weeks away, a practice test every week, practice 5 days a week.

The calendar is a suggestion, not a lock

  • A practice test planned for Saturday can be started earlier.
  • Nothing starts by itself when the planned time comes.
  • A missed day does not lock anything. The task is still there the next day.
  • Changing the test date or the schedule keeps every answer and result your child already has.

Before the first practice test

Time
The four scored sections take 110 minutes in total, plus the 30-minute essay and two breaks of 5–10 minutes each. A shorter version without the essay is also available, and children with extended time approved by ERB can have 1.5× or 2× time.
Device
A computer, or an iPad turned sideways. Full practice tests do not run on phones; practice sets do.
One sitting
A practice test counts toward the plan when your child finishes it within 24 hours of starting. If it takes longer, it is still saved and you can still see it, but the plan keeps using the last test that counted.
Your parent code
Starting or pausing a practice test needs a parent code that you set.

What we do not do

  • No predicted scores at launch. Reports show what your child actually did.
  • No phone notifications about missed days.
  • No subscription and no automatic renewal.
  • We never rewrite your child's essay.
